v3.03+ results latest: 29 April 2001 (16) |
Return of the the native...
If you are new to all this...links on the left lead directly to the benchmarks,
galleries of past and present clients and their performance in crunching the
esteemed WU. All v3.03 results are based on a standard benchmark work unit
(angle range 0.417) and can be compared with each other. Earlier clients used a
different, faster completing and rarer type of wok unit that was phased out of
use over new year. These are less representative and are included here for
completeness and a nostalgia exercise for those who cling on to the 'good old
days'! Or perhaps you just have a formatted tabular number fetish, whatever,
peruse and enjoy.
Some more numbers to add to the ever growing pile of benchmarks. I spent ages
trying to reduce the size of the pages and for a while it looked good but after
a few hours had only shaved 30kb off. Not enough to warrant the effort I'm
afraid. So you'll have to carry on making do with these 290Kb beasties - I hope
they are still acceptable. Also the 201-300 results pages actually contain 102,
I cheated as it seemd daft to have a seperate page just for the odd 2 results.
But the way the benchmarks keep coming in there will be a fourth page sooner
rather than later. Sometime this coming week I'll add 'username' to
the sortable links (alphabetically obviously) so that you can quickly see all
the results you've had
accepted - easier than working your way through the whole three hundred or so [Update:
done as promised].
There's a small revision to SETI
Spy to bring it up to 3.0.5 and the source code is now available for those of you
keen to 'improve' (?) or tinker with this brilliant utility. The winamp of
SETI-dom. I'd also link the latest version of WCPUID (3.0a) but H.ODAs
'downloads' page is configured wrongly and just redirects you back to the page!
When it's sorted I'll put it up. [Update, try
TweakFiles or
H.ODA]. SETI has reached a fairly stable and
mature plateau at present which combined with my recent indolence in digging up
the dirt means that at the moment the news is scarce. The good stuff goes, as it
should on the front page via zAmboni's
remarkable efforts. Roelof and I keep the numbers going even if the words are
getting rarer!
Max out.
